Rep. John Lewis on Making Justice from Selma to the Present

In October 2010, Rep. John Lewis, sat down with Laura Flanders in his office to talk about what it takes to make change in the USA. Lewis, who is portrayed in the Oscar-nominated film, Selma tells Flanders: “We need to make noise to make a more peaceful world.” Former chair of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, and long time representative for Georgia’s fifth district, Rep. Lewis also describes being assaulted by Tea Party protesters on the steps of the Congress in early 2010.
