Collective Courage: A Conversation on Cooperation in African-American Communities

Last month, the Bowery Poetry Club hosted a conversation about the role of cooperative economics in African American communities, both historically and in the present day. From the underground railroad and the beginnings of the civil rights movement to sou-sous and barter networks of today, economics cooperation has played a huge role in creating community support, particularly among African-American women.
